Payments owed to the medical expert are made on a gross basis by bank transfer and/or PayPal, without tax withholding unless required by applicable law.

Dektori generally does not withhold taxes from amounts paid to the medical expert and does not withhold federal, state, local, or international taxes unless required by applicable law.
40 Who is responsible for reporting and paying taxes?
The medical expert is solely responsible for reporting and paying all taxes due, including federal, state, local, and international taxes arising from income earned through the Platform.

Before receiving payments, the medical expert must provide appropriate tax documentation, including IRS Form W-9 for U.S. persons for U.S. tax purposes or IRS Form W-8BEN for non-U.S. persons, together with any other documentation reasonably required for compliance.

Dektori will issue IRS Form 1099-NEC only to medical experts classified as U.S. persons for U.S. tax purposes, when required by applicable law.

A non-U.S. medical expert is responsible for reporting income and paying taxes due under the laws of the medical expert’s country of residence or tax domicile. Receiving payments from Dektori does not relieve the medical expert of any tax obligations.
44 What happens if I do not pay the taxes due?
The medical expert is solely responsible for any liabilities, claims, or costs arising from failing to report or pay taxes and agrees to indemnify and hold Dektori harmless from any resulting liability, in accordance with the agreement and applicable law.
